Απευθείας κίτρινο 12 is formed by diazotizing DSD acid and coupling with two molecules of phenol, and then converting the hydroxyl group on the phenol into ethoxy group through ethyl chloride.

Τα χαρακτηριστικά των άμεσων βαφών:

Οι άμεσες βαφές έχουν υδατοδιαλυτές ομάδες όπως ομάδα σουλφονικού οξέος (-S03H) ή ομάδα καρβοξυλίου (-COOH) διατεταγμένες σε γραμμική δομή.
